Recently, Lowmac committed to the Litter Week of Action! The Litter Week of Action is to encourage a clear up & clamp down on litter on Scotland’s roads! A recent litter audit revealed shocking results stating that an average of seven bottles can be found on every 100 meters of Scotland’s roads! Not only is it creating a hazard, it is endangering life’s, wildlife and costing the public millions!

Littering is unacceptable – and in the Year of Natural Scotland and as we approach 2014 when we welcome the world to Scotland, it is important that we show our country at its best. – Richard Lochead, Environment Secretary

2014 is an important year for Scotland. We have many events planed including the Rdyer Cup, Commonwealth Games and Homecoming! It is vital that we take steps to rid the country of its litter problem and show it off at its best!
